Osseo Municipal Swim Pool Closure
In the interest of public safety due to the still active coronavirus, the City of Osseo will not be opening the swimming pool this summer. There are a number of variables involved in this decision, including potential virus spread, lack of lifeguard certification classes, reduced days of operations, and the anticipation of the likelihood of statewide ban on such activities. Due to the length of time it takes to get the pool ready for operation and the time it takes for certification courses, we would be unable to maintain our normal pool schedule and given the unknowns surrounding COVID-19, the decision to open needs to be addressed now. As much as the City would like to have the swimming pool up and running for everyone to enjoy, the safe and most economic action is to keep the facility closed for the 2020 season.
