ANNUAL BOARD OF REVIEW

The City of Osseo’s annual Board of Review will be held in the council chambers of city hall on Tuesday, June 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.


ANNUAL OPEN BOOK

Open Book will be held on Thursday, May 24th from 2 – 4 p.m.  in council chambers.


2018 Dog License

The City of Osseo Code of Ordinances, Section 7-1, states that “It shall be unlawful for any person in the City of Osseo to own, harbor or keep any dog more than five (5) months of age as of January 1 of any year, or five (5) months of age within the license year without paying a license fee and obtaining a dog license”.  State Law Section 174.05 through 174.10, Wisconsin Statutes also requires that a Rabies Vaccination be required for each license.  A late fee of $5.00 will be added to each license purchased after March 31st of each year.

Licenses can be purchased at City Hall providing all proper documentation and appropriate fees are received.  All delinquent dog owners are turned over to the Trempealeau County District Attorney’s office by September each year.


SPRING ELECTION

The polls will open at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning and will close at 8:00 p.m.  To view your ballots, go to www.myvote.wi.gov.


Snow and Ice Removal

SEC. 6-2-7 CITY OF OSSEO CODE OF ORDINANCES
The owner, occupant or person in charge of any parcel or lot which fronts upon or abuts any sidewalk shall keep said sidewalk cleared of all snow and ice. In the event of snow accumulating on said sidewalk due to natural means and/or by any other means, shall be cleared of all accumulated snow and/or ice within twenty-four (24) hours from the time the snow ceases to accumulate on said sidewalk. Sidewalks are to be kept clear of snow and ice to a minimum of four (4) feet in width. In the event that ice has formed on any sidewalk in such a manner that it cannot be removed, the owner, occupant or person in charge of the parcel or lot which fronts upon or adjoins said sidewalk shall keep the sidewalk sprinkled with material to accelerate melting or prevent slipping.

HELP WANTED

 

The City of Osseo and the Town of Sumner are seeking a recycling facility operator.  This would require working for the City part of Monday, Tuesday morning, and Thursday afternoon, approximately 8-9 hours per week. Also, work for the town of Sumner on Saturdays, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM to carry out the same recycling facility operator functions.  This position and hours could possibly be filled by one or two people.  Application and a job description are available at the Osseo City Hall, 13712 8th Street, Osseo, WI 54758 and on the City of Osseo website www.cityofosseo.us.
